Dave Evans

Dave is an award winning film and television director with a distinctive style and vision and a talent for working with actors and young people.

His work covers independent features such as Daddy’s Girl, BAFTA WALES best film (2007), Pretty Village (2014), hard hitting TV crime drama The Cocklefarmers/Y Pris (S4C), Mind to Kill (Channel 5/S4C) and hospital set drama series Crash (Red Planet/BBC Wales).

Dave’s recent one off television film Tir (Joio/S4C) was nominated for a number of international prizes including for best drama at The Celtic Media Festival 2014.

He is currently working to develop a number of projects with writers in the UK and Europe. These include a musical project with Roma artists in Serbia and the UK, Gypsy Prayer for The South. His auto-biographical movie, My Grandfather The Spy has received development funding from BFI/BBC Films and Film Wales.

Dave is passionate about children’s film and runs popular film workshops with disadvantaged children across the UK getting them involved in all aspects of film and film making.

Dave is fluent in English, Welsh, Catalan, Spanish and Serbo-Croat.
