Our wonderful client, Louise Collins, has been wowing audiences with her portrayal of Jennie in the Meredydd Barker play which imagines the relationship between husband and wife Nye Bevan and Jennie Lee.
“Politics aside, what shines in this production as bright as the stars above the Welsh Valleys are the performances by Gareth John Bale and Louise Collins, the latter of whom fleshes out the forgotten woman of British politics who for so long lived in her husband’s shadow. A woman of great principle and passion who not only became the youngest member of the House of Commons and the first Minister of the Arts, but spearheaded the creation of the Open University (OU).”
Nye and Jennie has been an overwhelming success which has toured length and breadth of Wales over the past couple of months. The play was also performed in Edinburgh at the begining of November. The final performance will be shown in the writer’s native county of Pembrokeshire, at The Torch Theatre, Milford Haven on the 17th of November.
